“He wants to…” Club director issues major transfer update on Manchester United loanee, opening bid prepared
Real Betis’ CEO Ramón Alarcón has issued a major update on the future of Antony after a successful start to his La Liga loan from Manchester United.
Antony has made a flying start to life at Real Betis since arriving on loan from Manchester United in late January, impressing across his first seven appearances.
The Brazilian winger wasted no time making an impact, winning Man of the Match on his debut in a 2-2 draw with Athletic Club. He played a key role in Betis’ opening goal, with his parried shot setting up Isco to score.
His fine form has continued, picking up two more Man of the Match awards in his next three games. In just four matches, the 24-year-old has already contributed three goals and an assist.
His standout moment so far came in a recent 3-0 victory over Real Sociedad, where he both scored and assisted. His goal was a moment of brilliance—a stunning volley from the edge of the box to break the deadlock early in the second half.
He also performed well against Real Madrid last week, and with five goal contributions in seven games, Antony has already surpassed his entire tally from last season at United, where he registered just three goals, and two assists in 38 appearances.
Major Antony transfer update issued
Amid the United loanee’s fantastic form, many are hoping that United will be able to sell the player this summer and raise funds for further transfers.
Now, Real Betis’ CEO Ramón Alarcón has issued a major update on Antony’s preferred destination amid interest from Juventus, stating that the winger would like to stay at Betis.
“The other day, Antony told me that he wanted to stay another year,” he told Canal Sur’s ‘El Pelotazo’ as relayed by MundoDeportivo.
“The player is very comfortable here and was surprised by the facilities we gave him to settle in the city as soon as he arrived.”
Betis preparing opening bid
There have also been reports in the last few days that the Seville-based club are preparing to enter into talks with United regarding an opening bid for the Brazilian.

Reports from England have stated that Real Betis are willing to offer around £16-20 million for the 25-year-old, who has just been recalled to the Brazilian national team.
However, it has been stated that United are hoping to gain a s much as £40-50 million from his transfer this summer if Antony continues his good form in Spain.
Amid many European clubs tracking his displays, Betis will likely have to offer a much more significant sum of cash to keep him, as United will likely not want to sanction another loan deal for the player.
