Antoine Semenyo’s transfer fee revealed with Rúben Amorim “very fond” of Manchester United target

Bournemouth’s asking price for Antoine Semenyo this summer has been revealed, with Rúben Amorim “very fond” of the Manchester United target.

Manchester United are looking to bolster Rúben Amorim’s attacking options this summer in light of the team’s ongoing goalscoring struggles.

While the club have been linked with strikers such as Liam Delap, Victor Osimhen, and Benjamin Šeško, they are also keen to strengthen their wide positions.

Under Amorim’s tactical setup, United play with a central striker supported by two wide attacking midfielders. Given Alejandro Garnacho’s recent lack of form and Christian Eriksen’s imminent departure, reinforcements are seen as necessary.

The club are reportedly targeting forwards who can operate on both flanks and offer additional creativity, a responsibility that has increasingly fallen on Bruno Fernandes in recent games.

Amorim “very fond” of Bournemouth’s Semenyo

With United still finalising the wide players they want to bring in to Amorim’s side this summer, one player Amorim is reportedly “very fond” of is Bournemouth talisman Antoine Semenyo.

Semenyo has been fantastic for Andoni Iraola’s side this season, with the 25-year-old providing 10 goals and six assists across 36 appearances in all competitions and being a pivotal reason for the side’s push for a top-half finish this campaign.

It has previously been claimed that Semenyo’s agent has privately told African publications that United are engaging in behind-the-scenes talks for the Ghanaian international.

“Antoine Semenyo, what a season he has had. And a player that Manchester United, their manager Ruben Amorim, is very fond of,” transfer expert David Ornstein revealed on NBC Sports.

“Now, they would be looking to sell him for a fee of in excess of what they got for Dominic Solanke, which was £65 million, because there’s no release clause. They would want a club record.”

Bournemouth’s Semenyo transfer price revealed

While Ornstein confirmed that Bournemouth would be looking for a fee above £65 million, a previous report from iSport has confirmed that Bournemouth will be demanding £70 million for the player this summer.

However, Ornstein further clarified that Bournemouth are under pressure to sell in order to comply with profit and sustainability rules this summer.

“Why they need to sell players is because they’ve spent so heavily on players – the best part of 300 million pounds since Bill Foley, the U.S. businessman, came into the club in December 2022, and they need to comply with the Premier League’s profitability and sustainability rules,” he clarified.

While £70 million may be a little too far out of reach for Amorim’s club, Bournemouth’s need to sell does leave room for the two clubs to negotiate should United pursue the player.
