Anthony Martial to STAY at Manchester United as Erik ten Hag considers loan exits
Anthony Martial is reported to be staying at Old Trafford this month, whereas, a talented group of youngsters are set for loan moves.
Anthony Martial has only played 19 games so far this season for United, and he was added to the long list of absentees, who weren’t available for the Reds FA Cup third-round victory against Wigan Athletic due to illness.
Erik ten Hag has previously stated that the club are involved in discussions with the forward as the Frenchman enters the last six months of his contract.
According to talkSPORT, United’s No. 9 has very little intention of leaving the club this month, despite interest from the Turkish side Fenerbahce as well as teams in Saudi Arabia. However, it is said that Martial isn’t keen on a move to the Middle East. Unless contract talks progress, it looks like the ex-Monaco man will be leaving Old Trafford in the summer for free.
Due to the aforementioned long injury crisis, United are currently undergoing any loan departures this month will only involve fringe youth players who are looking for more playing time.
This includes Facundo Pellsitri, Hannibal Mejbri, who has attracted interest from Sevilla and Everton, Dan Gore and striker Joe Hugill, according to the Manchester Evening News.
Pellsitri and Hannibal have both shown their desire for regular playing time, with the latter asking not to be selected for Tunisia in the African Cup of Nations as he wants to use the month of January to get more club minutes under his belt.
Both the tricky winger and the tenacious midfielder made cameo appearances in United’s 2-0 victory away at Wigan, meaning the Red Devils will now progress into the fourth round of the FA Cup.
