Alphonso Davies’ agent reveals contract agreement truth with player ‘open’ to Manchester United move
Alphonso Davies’ agent has revealed the truth surrounding rumours about the left-back’s future in a significant transfer boost for Manchester United.
Manchester United have been plagued by left-back issues for the past 18 months, with both Tyrell Malacia and Luke Shaw repeatedly sidelined.
Former manager Erik ten Hag had been forced to improvise over the last year, deploying Diogo Dalot, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, and Lisandro Martínez in the role since the start of 2024.

The club have not had the option of selecting either Shaw or Malacia in 2024 so far. The Dutchman has been out for approximately 18 months due to ongoing knee issues, while Shaw is frequently hampered by calf and hamstring injuries.
However, with Rúben Amorim joining the club as the new head coach, left-back has reportedly been targetted as a position that United want to strengthen as soon as possible, with the club being linked to multiple names across Europe.
The truth on Davies’ future
In the last six weeks, United have been credited with interest in Bayern Munich left-back Alphonso Davies, who’s contract expires in June 2025, making him a free agent in the summer.
Although some reports claim that the Canadian international already has an agreement to sign for Real Madrid next summer, his agent, Nedal Huoseh, has explained that the door remains open for his client.
“Although the player has many options, we have not reached an agreement with any club,” he said of the 24-year-old, as reported by Mundo Deportivo via Football Espana. “Any information that suggests otherwise is incorrect.”
Despite these words signalling a boost for United as the race for his signature remains open, Huoseh also explained that there is still a chance he may sign an extension with Bayern. “A new contract with Bayern could also be an option,” he added.
Davies ‘open’ to United
Combined with this, reports have explained that Davies is ‘open’ to joining Manchester United as he considers his options ahead of the summer window.
He is reportedly seeking wages of around £8.3 million per year after tax, which translates to roughly £160,000 per week—placing him in the mid-to-high range of Manchester United’s current earners.
Bayern have so far refused to negotiate a new contract under these terms, and while Real Madrid remains his “dream” destination, United are still very much in contention.
However, it’s noted that Madrid may tread cautiously with United after last summer’s tussle over Leny Yoro when the Manchester club successfully snatched the promising centre-back from under their noses.
