Alphonso Davies ‘open’ to Manchester United as Real Madrid ‘wary’ of Leny Yoro battle
Alphonso Davies is reportedly open to hearing an offer from Manchester United with Real Madrid wary of repeating the Leny Yoro battle.
Manchester United have faced ongoing issues at left-back over the past 18 months, with both Tyrell Malacia and Luke Shaw frequently unavailable for selection.
Erik ten Hag has had to be resourceful with his line-ups during the past year, using Diogo Dalot, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, and Lisandro Martínez to fill in at left-back since the start of the year.

Neither Shaw nor Malacia have been available since the turn of the year, with the Dutch international out for around 18 months due to persistent knee injuries, while Shaw continues to struggle with recurring calf and hamstring problems.
With this in mind, it has been reported that United will look into signing a new left-back this coming window, with Bayern Munich’s Alphonso Davies reportedly on their radar.
Davies ‘open’ to United
According to German transfer journalist Christian Falk, although it has previously seemed settled that he would join Real Madrid in the summer once his contract expires, this is not quite the case.
The 23-year-old will be able to negotiate a pre-contract agreement with any club he chooses after the turn of the year, and according to the report, he would be open to listening to an offer from United should they give into his demands.
It is explained that he is currently demanding around £8.3 million a year in wages after tax, which equates to approximately £160,000 a week. This would place him in the middle to high section of United’s current wage earners.
Bayern are not negotiating a new contract with him on these demands, and although he still “dreams” of Real Madrid, United cannot be ruled out.
Football Espana further comment that Madrid will be wary of United following the battle for Leny Yoro last summer, where the Manchester club swooped the talented centre-back from their grasp.
Fabrizio Romano’s latest
The latest from Fabrizio Romaon regarding the situation also gives United a boost. The famed Italian transfer expert explained that no agreement is in place with any club, albeit Madrid or United.
“Interesting situation. As of today, I can guarantee that there is nothing agreed with Man United,” he commented earlier this week.
“In this moment, nothing is imminent, or close, or advanced so that’s the point. The situation of Alphonso Davies remains absolutely open. Remember, the interest of Real Madrid is also there.
“But, at the moment, that’s it for Alphonso. No changes are expected in October. From what I’m hearing, in November and December, talks will be in important phase for what is going to happen in 2025.”
