“Absolutely…” Jobe Bellingham handed Manchester United transfer verdict as ‘next Amad’ point made

Jobe Bellingham has been told that he could be successful at Manchester United amid rumours of a potential summer move to Old Trafford.

Ruben Amorim is keen to bolster his Manchester United squad in the summer transfer window ahead of his first full season in charge of the club.

United plan to make multiple signings while offloading players not in Amorim’s plans. Rather than pursuing big-money transfers, the club is focusing on younger talents with world-class potential.

Those in charge of recruitment – Jason Wilcox and Christopher Vivell – have already started identifying potential targets for the summer.

Jobe Bellingham is among those being linked to the club, with the Sunderland starlet having impressed club scouts with his performances in the Championship.

Jobe Bellingham would be smart signing for United

United have not signed a player directly from a Championship club since Dan James arrived from Swansea City in the summer of 2019.

Meanwhile, other clubs in the Premier League have been making the most out of signing talent from England’s second division.

Adam Wharton, Michael Olise and Morgan Rogers are all examples of players who have become top level players after being snatched up for cheap from the Championship.

Bellingham, 19, would be a smart addition for United and he fits the exact role Amorim is looking for in the midfield. He is also reportedly only going to cost around £20 million.

Some might be concerned about the step up these players have to make, especially at Old Trafford where there is more pressure to perform.

Jobe Bellingham handed United verdict as Amad comparison made

It is easy to forget that Amad had minimal amounts of experience at the highest level of the game before emerging as a key player for United in the last 12 months.

The 22-year-old only had a handful of appearances for the club and it was his time at Sunderland which showcased his abilities.

Bellingham has been told he could have a similar rise to the Ivorian if he decides to make the move to Old Trafford in the summer.

“One thing I would look at is that Amad Diallo went to Sunderland on loan and he was outstanding,” ex-Sunderland defender Michael Gray told Betfred.

“He then goes back to Manchester United, has a couple of injuries and has to bide his time, but once he got himself in the first-team, he’s probably been their best player this season.

“So when I take all that into consideration, then absolutely Jobe Bellingham could go to Manchester United, even though I want him to remain at Sunderland.

“I think it’s probably on the cards that he’s going to go somewhere. 100% he’s got the physicality, he’s ready for the big stage.

“When you look at what his brother’s achieved in a short period of time, I’m not saying that Jobe’s going to reach those levels, but he’s got all the ability in the world to be nearly as good as his brother.”
