18-year-old wonderkid flying to Manchester TODAY to become Rúben Amorim’s first Manchester United summer signing

Rúben Amorim’s first summer signing is reportedly flying to Manchester today to sign his contract with Manchester United from Ligue 1 side Le Havre.

Manchester United’s inability to establish a consistent goal threat continues to be a significant concern heading into the summer.

Marcus Rashford and Bruno Fernandes have carried the bulk of the scoring load in recent seasons, with Rashford netting 30 goals in the 2022/23 campaign. However, with Rashford expected to leave after his loan at Aston Villa and Fernandes now playing deeper under Rúben Amorim, United’s attacking options look increasingly thin.

Rasmus Højlund has shown promise but still lacks the maturity and consistency required to lead the line on his own. Joshua Zirkzee, meanwhile, appears more effective in a secondary role rather than as the focal point of the attack.

As the transfer window approaches, the club are actively seeking first-team reinforcements such as Liam Delap, but are also looking to make further purchases to bolster their Academy talent.

Kana-Biyik flying to sign for United

United’s want to sign young players who can grow into future stars has become evident in the last 12 months.

They signed young Malian midfielder Sekou Kone for a £1 million fee last summer, and poached world-class talent Chido Obi from Arsenal a few months later.

United have been closely linked with 18-year-old Le Harve striker Enzo Kana-Biyik across the last two weeks, and according to a new report, have seemingly secured his transfer.

According to Benjamin Quarez from LeParisian, Kana-Biyik is flying from France to Manchester today to put pen to paper on a professional contract with United and become Amorim’s first significant incoming of the 2025 summer transfer window.

Who is Enzo Kana-Biyik?

Kana-Biyik hails from a proud Cameroonian footballing dynasty. His father, André Kana-Biyik, ranks eighth in all-time appearances for Cameroon, while his uncle, François Omam-Biyik—ninth on that list—has coached André Onana as part of the national team’s staff.

Football runs deep in the family, with Kana-Biyik’s brother currently playing for PSG’s U17s and his older sibling, Jean-Armel Kana-Biyik, having also come through Le Havre’s ranks.

The Franco-Cameroonian forward has spent his entire youth career at Le Havre, where both his father and brother once played. While the Ligue 1 club were eager to retain him, they struggled to convince him to stay amid a difficult season that sees them sitting 16th and facing a relegation play-off.

Kana-Biyik has yet to make his senior debut but has stood out for Le Havre’s U19s, playing as a centre-forward.

He has recorded nine goal involvements in 14 appearances in the Championnat National U19—scoring four goals and assisting one in just his last six games—form that will surely have caught the eye of United scouts.
