Zlatan Ibrahimovic makes opinions clear on Marcus Rashford loan to AC Milan
Marcus Rashford could be reunited with former Manchester United teammate Zlatan Ibrahimovic if he moves to AC Milan this month
Marcus Rashford’s future at Manchester United remains extremely uncertain and he could depart in the January transfer window.
The English forward admitted to being open to a new challenge in a recent interview and he has not appeared for Ruben Amorim since then.
United have played six games since Rashford last made an appearance against Viktoria Plzen in the Europa League. He was included on the bench in just one of those games.
With the mid-season window now fully underway, there have been a variety of clubs linked with a move for Rashford.
Latest updates on Milan’s interest in Rashford
AC Milan chiefs reportedly held talks with Rashford’s representatives earlier this week, with his brother and agent flying to Italy.
They are joined by the likes of Juventus, Barcelona and Tottenham Hotspur, who are all interested in signing Rashford on loan in January.
The player’s wages are the biggest stumbling block, with Rashford currently earning more than £300,000-per-week and United wanting a significant portion of that to be paid in any loan deal.
Though, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, an agreement for Rashford to join Milan is edging closer, with manager Sergio Conceiçao happy with a deal to go through.
Ibrahimovic’s stance on Rashford loan
The aforementioned report also explained the stance of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who works as a senior advisor at AC Milan.
Ibrahimovic played alongside Rashford during his spell at Old Trafford between 2016 and 2018. The Swedish legend is also open to this move.
In fact, the report claims that Ibrahimovic has “vouched for Rashford’s character” following various rumours about his conduct behind-the-scenes over the last year.
It feels like a conclusion to this transfer may be creeping closer, and Rashford could end up seeing his ex-teammate Zlatan once again this season.
