Young starlet Roony Bardghji, who has been linked with a move to Manchester United, is “the next big talent” to come out of Sweden according to a national side teammate.

Roony Bardghji, 18, made a name for himself during the group stage of the 2023/24 Champions League season after the starlet scored a winning goals for Copenhagen against Manchester United.

He scored the winning goal in a 4-3 match that ended up being a major contributing factor in Erik ten Hag‘s side crashing out of the competition, and recently spoke about his desire to play for the biggest clubs in Europe.

Bardghji has been linked with United in the last few months, as well as other clubs such as Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur.

Speaking in a recent interview, he explained that it would be a “dream” for him to move to a big European club, but that he will bide his time and wait for the move to feel right.

Speaking to Danish magazine Tipsbladet Swedish national team midfielder Kristoffer Olsson has sung the praises of both Bardghji and his fellow countryman Lucas Bergvall.

“It is Bardghji and Lucas Bergvall (from Djurgården) who are talked about in Sweden as the next big talents. But Roony has really proven what he can do,” Olsson said.

“And everything I have seen and heard about him is that he is extremely good at staying grounded. That speaks volumes for him having a fantastic career.

“As Viktor Claesson (Copenhagen winger) said, Bardghji works hard every single day. He has a very bright future ahead of him. So we’ll see if something happens this summer or how it develops. It will be exciting to see what the next step will be. Also, for the Swedish national team.

“He plays on a team that advanced in the Champions League and is at the top. It will be exciting to follow him.”
