“Wow…” – Ruben Amorim ‘can’t wait’ to work with £37m Manchester United star
Ruben Amorim will be eager to start working with one £37 million star at Manchester United, according to Danny Ambrose.
Manchester United won 2-0 against Greek side PAOK in the Europa League on Thursday evening as Amad Diallo grabbed both goals.
It was an underwhelming performance from Ruud van Nistelrooy’s team but they managed to get the all-important three points.
Amad provided the magic in front of goal, especially for his second, to secure the victory in his first start since September.
The Ivorian started the season brilliantly by winning the club’s Player of the Month award in August but failed to make a huge impact since then.
Though, he showed everything he is capable of during the win over PAOK. Whether it was link up with Noussair Mazraoui, creating danger in the box or winning the ball back and curling it into the top corner.
Sky Sports pundit Darren Ambrose believes that incoming manager Ruben Amorim will be very eager to work with Amad after that game.
“Wow. He’s added another couple of goals to his name today, he is a real talent,” the former Charlton Athletic and Crystal Palace player said.
“Ruben Amorim is going to be watching this and rubbing his hands together and thinking, ‘I can’t wait to work with him’.”
Amad will certainly be eyeing a starting spot under the 39-year-old head coach, who plays with two attacking players behind the striker, almost in no.10 positions.
Bruno Fernandes is likely to be occupying one of those spots and the player signed for a £37 million package from Atalanta in 2021 will be eager to take the other.
