Manchester United’s pre-season tour of the USA has now come to a conclusion and Erik ten Hag’s side are preparing for the upcoming campaign.

This pre-season saw the Reds win two games and lose three – but as we all know, the results in these warm-up games rarely mean too much.

There have been positives and negatives across the last month for Erik ten Hag’s side. Some players have excelled, while others have underwhelmed.

UtdDistrict have picked out the main winners and losers at United during this pre-season tour.

Winners

Perhaps the biggest winner over the last few weeks is Amad Diallo, with the Ivorian winger providing excellent performances after ending the previous season strongly.

If there were any questions about who would start the season on the right wing, he answered them emphatically and has marked his spot in Ten Hag’s starting team.

There was also a youth team pairing who greatly impressed in these games – Harry Amass and Toby Collyer. Not only did they show solid performances, but they displayed specific attributes that make you think that first-team involvement is not far away.

Mason Mount was also a big question mark ahead of this tour following an injury-struck debut season at Old Trafford, but the midfielder has shown that he could play a big role for Ten Hag, especially out-of-possession.

Finally, Marcus Rashford is another player who can take many positives from this pre-season. He is looking sharp on the ball and seems to be playing a much more effective role out of possession.

Losers

Unfortunately, the two biggest losers from this pre-season tour are Leny Yoro and Rasmus Højlund. The pair suffered injuries that will keep them out at the start of the season. They both looked sharp while on the pitch but must deal with their setbacks in the coming weeks and months.

Antony had a big point to prove going into this pre-season after two underwhelming seasons at the club. He missed the opening two games, and in the appearances since then, you couldn’t really tell whether he was an £85 million player or a prospect from the youth academy. He has well and truly lost his spot in the team.

Meanwhile, Casemiro came back into pre-season looking slim, and there were hopes that he could show that he still has a big role to play at United. Yet, the same problems exist with the Brazilian in the team. In and out of possession, there remain big question marks.

Finally, Aaron Wan-Bissaka simply looked like a man who is heading for the exit door in these games. That is likely going to happen, and it’s a move that makes sense for all parties involved.
