“Willing to pay…” Manchester United’s ‘new Bryan Mbeumo fee revealed’ as “final details” being sorted

Manchester United’s pursuit of Bryan Mbeumo seems to be edging closer and closer as Rúben Amorim closes in on his second transfer of the summer.

Manchester United are nearing their second signing of the summer, following the confirmed arrival of Matheus Cunha from Wolverhampton Wanderers earlier this month.

The 26-year-old Brazilian is expected to finalise his £62.5 million transfer after completing international duty, with a five-year contract awaiting his signature.

Manager Rúben Amorim remains focused on strengthening the attack, with Bryan Mbeumo of Brentford now a leading target. The player has expressed a strong interest in joining United.

Although a bid worth up to £55 million was rejected last week, negotiations are ongoing, and the club are hopeful of reaching an agreement in the near future.

New Mbeumo to United fee revealed

Mbeumo is a hot property this summer following his 20-goal Premier League campaign last season, with the player of interest to many clubs across the country.

Reports suggest that Tottenham are still keeping tabs on his transfer to United as they may aim to swoop in and sign the forward should talks with United break down, although the player’s clear preference is still to join the Old Trafford club.

According to transfer journalist Rudy Galetti, United are now closing in on a deal with Brentford that would see the club sign Mbeumo for a fee of around £63 million, with add-ons that would bring the total agreement slightly higher.

Galetti further explained that, with personal terms between United and Mbeumo agreed upon, the final details are being ironed out with Brentford, and an agreement between the two clubs will be reached soon.

United must kick on from the Mbeumo deal

Prior to the summer window opening, United had planned to secure two first-team players in the opening days, with Cunha being complemented by the signing of Liam Delap, too.

However, Delap ultimately chose to join Chelsea instead, delaying United’s Plan A for the window, with the club quickly launching into a pursuit for Mbeumo.

But with the negotiations for the Cameroon international proving to be much more laboured than many expected, this has halted United’s progress in the window.

Another crucial point is sales. United must sell some of their key assets, such as Antony, Alejandro Garnacho, and Jadon Sancho, in the coming weeks to raise funds for further signings, but so far, not a single player has left.

There is plenty of interest surrounding the three names above, but as of yet, the club are yet to receive any formal proposals.
