Who is Omar Marmoush? Man Utd eyeing £50m Bundesliga talent among three other transfer targets
Manchester United are reportedly eying £50 million Bundesliga talent Omar Marmoush among three other potential transfer targets.
Ruben Amorim has taken over at Manchester United and has started getting to work by implementing his new system.
The Reds are hoping that the Portuguese boss can get the best out of an underperforming squad but transfers are going to be crucial to his success at Old Trafford.
Several positions do not have many players suited to the way Amorim wants to play and so solutions will either be made internally or in the transfer window.
According to Sky Germany, United are looking at several potential attacking options to bolster the frontline under Amorim.
Eintracht Frankfurt attacker Omar Marmoush was said to be among the players United are eyeing, with Sky claiming that he would cost between £42-50 million.
Marmoush has excelled in the Bundesliga so far this season, with 11 goals and seven assists in just 11 appearances. He is only one goal away from matching his tally from last term.
The 25-year-old Egyptian joined Frankfurt in the summer of 2023 from Wolfsburg and has a contract until June 2027.
He currently operates as a centre-forward in a two-man frontline under Dino Toppmöller but has also played on both flanks and behind the striker.
With quick feet, pace and the ability to play in the pockets, Marmoush could be a great option as one of the two attackers behind a striker under Amorim at Old Trafford.
The aforementioned report also mentioned three other players as potential options at United, all of which they are considering.
Randal Kolo Muani, Victor Boniface and Victor Osimhen are being spoken about at Old Trafford alongside Marmoush. However, all three are more natural no.9s.
United’s current attacking options includes Rasmus Højlund, Joshua Zirkzee, Marcus Rashford, Amad Diallo, Bruno Fernandes, Mason Mount, Alejandro Garnacho and Antony.
There are major question marks about several of those players and even links away from the club for Zirkzee despite only moving to the club in the summer.
United are unlikely to be doing major business in January unless they can make some substantial sales. So these attacking targets would be more likely for next summer.
