Manchester United have signed 16-year-old Harry Amass from Watford on reported four-year deal.

The Red Devils have secured the young talent amid interest from various top Premier League clubs including Manchester City and Chelsea.

Amass will join a rejuvenated academy at Carrington with the hopes to move into the first-team in the coming years, with Erik ten Hag showing eagerness to trust in youth players with quality such as Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo.

With many United fans unaware of the talented teenager’s background and profile, here is everything you need to know about Harry Amass:

Harry Amass’ position and role

Amass operates as a left-back in particular, with an offensive mindset.

The defender is comfortable with the ball at his feet and can take his man on the inside if the space is available.

Harry Amass’ club career so far

Amass joined Watford as a nine-year-old and spent seven years at the London based club until his move to United.

The Hornets wanted to keep the teenager at Vicarage Road and even offered him a professional contract in attempts to fight off clubs elsewhere, but were ultimately unsuccessful.

Amass appeared on the bench for the first-team in their FA Cup third-round fixture against Reading. He was an unused substitute in the 2-0 loss but his inclusion in the squad, at just 15 years of age, showed the exciting around him at the club.

The defender was involved in Watford’s short FA Youth Cup run last term, starting both games against Everton and Arsenal.

Harry Amass’ international career so far

Amass is an England international at youth level and has played for the U15s side since making his debut at 14-years-old.
