Who is Abdulrahman Abdulla Al-Ansari? Sheikh Jassim’s Manchester United partner
With the creation of Nine Two UK Holdings Limited as a registered company on Companies House, many feel this is an indication that Sheikh Jassim’s bid will be the one accepted by the Glazer family for ownership of Manchester United.
When browsing the information available surrounding Nine Two UK Holdings Limited, there is one piece of information that stands out – although Sheikh Jassim is listed as a director as expected, there is one other name on the sheet; that of Abdulrahman Abdulla Al-Ansari.
According to LinkedIn, Al-Ansari’s latest job is listed as “confidential” – a job that was started two months ago and lines up with around the same time that the Nine Two Foundation was created as an entity in Qatar.
He is also listed as a Senior Manager of Investor Relations, Cooperate Governance, and Board Secretary.

Naturally, this draws a sense of curiosity as to who Al-Ansari is and what his role could be in relation to Manchester United, should Sheikh Jassim’s bid for Erik ten Hag‘s club be the one accepted.
Al-Ansari graduated from the University of Leeds with a Bachelor of Law degree, and his work since has surrounded law and legal counsel.
For five years between April 2012 and March 2017, Al-Ansari worked initially as a legal researcher and then as legal counsel for the Qatar Olympic Committee. He was heavily involved in contract negotiations and finalisation, as well as organising QOC events and representing the QOC at international events.
This would have seen him as part of the behind-the-scenes team that saw Qatar compete in both the 2012 London Olympics in England and the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics in Brazil.

Next, he worked as legal counsel and then as a board of directors secretary for a company called Malomatia – a company that provides professional technology services in Qatar. He worked for Malomatia for just under four years, between March 2017 and December 2020.
Throughout his professional career, Al-Ansari has been heavily involved in both board and legal affairs across a range of fields such as major events, sports, IT, and logistics.
His legal speciality encompasses negotiation, privacy law, and legal writing, among other skills.
From this, it may be assumed that Al-Ansari may take up a legal-based role at Manchester United, should he become involved with the club.
This may encompass player contracts and negotiations with other clubs, with United set for a huge rebuild if Sheikh Jassim’s bid is successful.
