When Manchester United will ‘formally submit’ Benjamin Sesko bid as RB Leipzig agreement explained

Manchester United remain interested in signing a striker this summer and RB Leipzig goalscorer Benjamin Sesko is a serious option.

Manchester United have signed Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo to help fix the attacking issues from last season at Old Trafford.

The two new additions scored a combined 35 goals in the Premier League last season but Ruben Amorim is still looking for a centre-forward to compliment those players.

Rasmus Højlund has struggled at Old Trafford since his arrival and could end up leaving this summer while Joshua Zirkzee is considered at his best in one of the no.10 roles.

After missing out on Liam Delap and Viktor Gyokeres, the Reds are now considering a move for Benjamin Sesko after watching the forward form a number of years.

The 22-year-old scored 21 goals last season and also registered six assists. He has been viewed as one of the most excited young strikers in Europe for some time.

When United will formally submit Sesko bid

United are not alone in their appreciation of Sesko, with Newcastle planning to make a move for the RB Leipzig forward after news emerged that Alexander Isak wants to leave their club.

Fabrizio Romano has already explained that The Geordies are pushing hard for Sesko, and the latest reports explain the state of play at the moment.

Sky Germany have reported that both United and Newcastle are in talks with Sesko’s camp and have presented their projects and financial offers to the player.

It was explained that the decision now rests with the Slovenian international, and then after he reaches a verbal agreement with either team, they will formally submit their offers to the German side.

Reports elsewhere have suggested that the player favours a move to Old Trafford over Newcastle despite their Champions League status.

RB Leipzig’s agreement with Sesko explained

Sesko has a gentleman’s agreement with Leipzig which could see him leave for around £65 million this summer to the right club.

It has been explained that there are ‘special clubs’ who could secure the young striker for slightly less than Leipzig’s price-tag, even though that is still a hefty sum of money.

To be involved in negotiations, United must be prepared to sell Antony or Alejandro Garnacho in the coming days in order to fund a move for Sesko.

Should this move occur, United’s new-look front three would have all come in for a combined cost of £198.5 million – although they also bring a total of 58 goals from last term.

Sesko does not bring the guarantee of Premier League experience, and he is another young striker which United have bad experience with, but the potential upside is huge.
