Wayne Rooney makes interesting prediction about Manchester United’s ‘big game’ vs Tottenham Hotspur

Wayne Rooney has been speaking about Manchester United’s upcoming clash in the Premier League against Tottenham Hotspur.

Manchester United are unbeaten in their last four outings, which includes wins against Sunderland, Liverpool and Brighton.

The Reds had to settle for a 2-2 draw away at Nottingham Forest on the weekend after Amad and Casemiro scored for Ruben Amorim’s side.

Attention now turns to another away trip, this time to North London to face Tottenham Hotspur after their derby defeat to Chelsea.

Thomas Frank’s side currently sit x in the Premier League table but there are currently major question marks over the manager after his side’s dire performance against Chelsea on the weekend.

United, meanwhile, will be looking to secure an important victory and to keep their unbeaten run alive before entering the November international break.

Rooney makes interesting prediction about United vs Spurs

United’s result at Forest was a slight setback after their three wins in a row and they will be hoping to get back to winning ways this coming weekend.

Even though Spurs have not looked amazing under Frank, they are still a tough team to face and have had United’s number in recent meetings, including in the Europa League final.

Wayne Rooney believes that it is a ‘big game’ for both teams and predicts that the winner will use the result as a springboard to ‘really kick on’ this season.

“It’s a big game, I think, after United [have] obviously [had their] recent run,” the United legend said on BBC Sport’s The Wayne Rooney Show.

“They look to be back into a decent place, anyway. And so, I think it’s a big game after Tottenham losing to Chelsea.

“Whoever wins that, [it] could really kick them on. Whoever loses it, [it] could be a tough one to take that. So, I think it’s a massive game coming up then.”

United need to win away

United’s shock win over Liverpool at Anfield is their only win away from home so far this season and they will be hoping to change that at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Amorim has mentioned how the Old Trafford supporters help his team when they play at home and how they need to deal with the pressures of playing away.

Considering Spurs have won just three of their past 19 home Premier League games, it feels like the perfect place to implement the changes Amorim wants.

United will want to deliver a good performance but ensuring victory and three points will be the most important thing on the weekend.
