Amad Diallo continued his impressive form for Sunderland with a 25-yard strike in their 4-1 win over Wigan Athletic on Thursday evening.
The victory elevated Tony Mowbray’s side to fourth in the Championship. Amad scored their fourth goal on the night in the closing minutes of the match.
The 20-year-old Manchester United loanee has been impressing for The Black Cats in recent months after a disappointing loan spell with Rangers last term. He has six goals and one assist so far this season in 11 starts.
Mowbray previously explained that the Ivorian needed to work on shooting earlier when in possession of the ball. He certainly did that against The Latics.

After playing a one-two with Andrew Roberts to take two players out of the game, Amad set himself before letting a fierce shot loose toward the far left corner. The speed and unexpectedness of the shot took Jamie Jones by surprise and he was unable to stop the effort.
Watch below:
United supporters are enjoying the fact that the winger is flourishing on loan after initially joining the club in 2020.
One fan said: “What a player. Desperate for him to do well at United.”
Another tweeted: “Looking like a class buy, good RW depth next season, not easy to cut it in that league.”
A third added: “Another reminder that we do not need another winger. United should be going for an out-and-out forward.”
Meanwhile, one Sunderland fan commented: “Offer United 100 million and the stadium for that lad.”
