Amad Diallo signed for Manchester United on 2 January 2021 for a fee of around £18 million with a further £18m in add-ons from Italian side Atalanta B.C., however the young winger is yet to make a significant impact in the first XI.

After spending his first 12 months flirting between the Manchester United U21s and first team squad, Amad was sent on loan to Rangers for six months in order to gain himself more first-team experience.

Despite scoring on his debut and chipping in with a further few loans, Rangers fans did not take that well to the player, and he ultimately retuned to the club at the end of may, once the Scottish Premiership season and Rangers’ Europa League came to a close.

Amad then joined Erik ten Hag’s pre-season tour, scoring for Manchester United against Rayo Vallecano in the final game of the pre-season fixture list before it was ultimately decided that Amad would spend another season on loan – this time at Sunderland in the Championship.

Although his Sunderland move got off to a slow start, Amad has been nothing short of brilliant for the side in recent months – and fans of The Black Cats are singing their praises.

It is not just Amad’s obvious footballing talent that fans of the club love, it’s his attitude and work rate during matches which get the fans off their feet and singing his name.

Amad has scored five goals and contributed one assist so far for Sunderland this evening. but it’s his general performances beyond goal contributions that have impressed those at the Stadium of Light.

This will be music to the ears of Manchester United fans worldwide, with Amad a definite fan favourite among fans at the club.

With Erik ten Hag short of forward options on the right hand side, Amad’s left-footedness and directness towards goal will help him compete with new signing Antony, who plays a similar type of football.
