Victor Osimhen responds to Man United links ahead of potential summer move from Napoli
Victor Osimhen has responded to rumours about a potential summer move away from Napoli and links to joining Manchester United.
The Nigerian striker has been in phenomenal form for Gli Azzurri, scoring 23 times in just 28 appearances so far this season.
His 19 goals and five assists in league format have helped boost Luciano Spalletti’s side to the top of Serie A, with an extraordinary 18-point gap on second-place Inter.
Following Cristiano Ronaldo’s mid-season exit, Erik ten Hag’s men are in need of a top-class number nine. The Dutch manager signed Wout Weghorst on a six-month loan in January but various reports have detailed his preference to add a goalscorer to his side.
Osimehen has been one of those linked with a move to Old Trafford alongside Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane. The 24-year-old has just over two years left on his current contract with Napoli.

He would command a significant fee, however, with many reports suggesting it will be over £100 million.
It seems likely that Osimehen will be on the move in the summer. When asked about the prospect of a summer transfer he remained coy, yet explained he will be in conversation with his agent throughout the process.
“I don’t know what the future holds,” Osimehen explained when asked by SPORT1 about a potential transfer and the links to Man United. “I think I’m on the right track.
“At the end of the season, I will sit down with my agents and discuss everything. I will also be in talks with the club. I am incredibly grateful to Naples. We will find a good solution together.”
