Three things to look out for: Bournemouth vs Manchester United (Premier League)
Manchester United will strive for a win against Bournemouth on Saturday in their bid to secure Champions League qualification next season, with Liverpool breathing down their necks on the league table.
Saturday’s opponents, Bournemouth, have mathematically secured themselves from relegation so the onus is on Erik ten Hag’s men to stamp their authority on the game since minute one.
With the much-welcomed return of Marcus Rashford and Scott McTominay, the Reds will be keen to get a win at the Vitality Stadium and improve their horrendous away form.
That being said, here are the three things to look out for ahead of the game:
#1 – Will Rashford return?
Marcus Rashford has certainly been United’s most important player this season. With the current lack of an elite striker in the squad, Rashford stepped up many times and scored goals when his team needed it the most. However, the strong dependency on Rashford led to fatigue and his latest leg injury.
Thankfully, he had returned to training but the latest team news reveals that he has picked up an illness ahead of the fixture.
Whether United’s no.10 makes the game or not could be crucial for The Reds in a must-win encounter.
#2 – Alejandro Garnacho, The X Factor
Alejandro Garnacho’s rise this season was absolutely magnificent to witness. A direct, pacey winger – Garnacho often became the ace up Ten Hag’s sleeve in difficult situations. When he got injured by Kyle Walker-Peters’ brutal tackle, United lost that bit of magic that could decide games with one moment of brilliance. His composure in front of goal against Wolves is a much-needed attribute for this United side, who are currently struggling to score goals.
#3 – Beware of the Cherries
After clinching their safety in the Premier League, one would think that the home side would no longer have anything to play for. However, that doesn’t mean that United can just walk over them. This same Bournemouth team managed to beat Tottenham away from home – a place where United fumbled a two-goal deficit. Ten Hag’s men will need to respect their opponents and not take them lightly in order to win this one.
