Three things noticed in new Manchester United training video as Bryan Mbeumo trait becomes clear

Manchester United have continued their pre-season training after the West Ham United victory, in preparation for AFC Bournemouth, who they face on Thursday, 02:30 (BST).

Pre-season training is always important, but this summer’s training camp is especially important for Rúben Amorim’s side, as they must learn the tactics of the Portuguese coach to improve from last season.

Several players will be fighting for a first-team spot before the start of the season, meaning performances in pre-season training will be crucial to their Manchester United futures.

Bryan Mbeumo joins new signings Matheus Cunha and Diego Leon in training as the squad prepares for their next outing against AFC Bournemouth, as United face another Premier League side in the PL Summer Series.

United’s official media team have compiled a video of training while the squad are in the USA, and there were several notable things seen by the UtdDistrict team.

Mee and Murdock impress

With Andre Onana’s injury, young goalkeepers could be forced into stepping up and showing their value if another United shotstopper is forced out while in the USA.

Altay Bayinidr and Tom Heaton have both played in pre-season, but Dermot Mee and Will Murdock have joined the pair, with both young goalkeepers impressing during a compact shooting drill.

They were forced into quick saves before having to regain their balance as the next wave of attack came. Mee and Murdock are likely to stay at United next season after Elyh Harrison and Radek Vitek both secured loan moves in the EFL.

Mbeumo steps up involvement

Amorim confirmed that Mbeumo wouldn’t feature in either the West Ham or Bournemouth pre-season games, but said he would be available for the last fixture in America against Everton.

The 25-year-old stepped up his involvement in the latest round of training, as he took part in an intense attack vs defence drill alongside young players like Sekou Kone and Bendito Mantato.

The youngsters were no match for Mbeumo, as he frequently found himself in a shooting position or playing in his teammates to score, good signs for the Cameroonian ahead of his debut. His finishing capabilities were very clear, with one cheeky lob being the pick of the bunch.

Martínez continues his recovery

Lisandro Martínez’s last United appearance came in February against Crystal Palace, where he suffered a horrible ACL injury just as he was picking up form.

When he was playing under Amorim, Martínez frequently found himself impacting actions in the final third, whether that was with a brilliant pass or with a great strike, like his goal against Liverpool.

The training video shows the Argentine running at high intensity, showing no signs that his injury is affecting him. Amorim and the squad will hope he can return sooner than they thought after he was carried off Old Trafford on a stretcher.
