Thomas Tuchel has explained a key tactic of Erik ten Hag that Bayern Munich must be wary of as they host Bayern Munich in the Premier League.

Manchester United will be facing Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena as they re-enter the Champions League for the first time in two seasons.

Erik ten Hag‘s men finished 3rd place in the Premier League last campaign, finishing only behind Manchester City and Arsenal in the table and entering the competition once again.

They have drawn Bayern Munich, FC Copenhagen, and Galatasaray in their Champions League group, visiting the German club on Wednesday evening.

Thomas Tuchel, speaking on Tuesday afternoon, has explained that he is particularly worried about United’s “excellent transitional play”, naming three players he knows his players must be particularly aware of.

“Their (United’s) results so far don’t say much about them. They can count on their excellent transitional play, with Bruno Fernandes, Marcus Rashford and now also Rasmus Højlund up front,” Tuchel commented in his pre-match press conference on Tuesday.

“We can’t switch off at all. Their start to the season has been unsatisfactory, but they could’ve led early against Brighton. They were never out of the game. United are always dangerous, they have a lot of individual quality.”

Despite United’s opening three losses in five this Premier League season, the Champions League provides the squad with the perfect chance to re-start and kick on their 2023/24 campaign across all competitions.
