Thomas Tuchel mentioned something that Sir Jim Ratcliffe completely disagrees with during their Manchester United meeting
During his meeting with Sir Jim Ratcliffe, Thomas Tuchel directly told the Manchester United co-owner something he disagreed with.
Last Tuesday, Thomas Tuchel and Sir Jim Ratcliffe met in Monaco to discuss the German potentially replacing Erik ten Hag as manager of Manchester United.
However, Tuchel subsequently withdrew himself from consideration after he left the meeting feeling that he would not be INEOS‘ preferred option should they hire a new manager this summer.
The decision regarding whether Ten Hag will remain in his job or not is set to be announced sometime this week, although there is no exact time frame on when this will be.
However, fresh details have now emerged surrounding the topics of conversations within Ratcliffe and Tuchel’s meeting, and it seems the two disagree about Jadon Sancho.
Sancho is currently in exile from United following a public spat between him and Ten Hag. The Dutch manager told the press that he had dropped the winger in August due to poor training performances. However, Sancho hit back, releasing a statement on social media claiming this was a lie.
Reports over multiple months have explained that Sancho thought Ten Hag was playing favourites with his choices and treating the winger harshly compared to others. He refused to apologise for his statement, so he was banned and sent on loan to Borussia Dortmund.
According to The Times, Tuchel directly told Ratcliffe that he would want to reintegrate Sancho back into the squad and that he felt he could get the best out of struggling players such as the 24-year-old and Mason Mount.
This would not have gone down well with Ratcliffe. It has been documented previously that, with respect to Sancho, Ratcliffe has been understanding of Ten Hag’s actions. He agreed with the way Ten Hag has handled the situation and has given his backing throughout regarding the matter.
With Sancho still not apologising, Ratcliffe will have disagreed with the notion that Sancho was to be reintegrated, and beyond this, reports have confirmed that Sancho will be sold this summer regardless of who the manager is.
