Thomas Frank warns Spurs team about four Manchester United stars, including one ‘incredible threat’

Tottenham Hotspur manager Thomas Frank has warned his side about four Manchester United players ahead of their Premier League clash.

Michael Carrick will be eager to maintain Manchester United’s impressive run of form when Tottenham Hotspur visit Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon.

Since the former United midfielder stepped into the dugout, his side have recorded eye-catching wins over Manchester City, Arsenal, and Fulham, with Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha, and Bruno Fernandes all hitting top form once again.

United are firmly in the hunt for a Champions League place and currently occupy fourth position, making Spurs’ visit another prime opportunity to collect three points and keep their attacking momentum rolling.

Tottenham, by contrast, are enduring a challenging period. Despite earning a 2–2 draw against City last weekend, they sit 14th in the Premier League.

The reverse fixture earlier this season ended level as well, with Matthijs de Ligt scoring a late equaliser to secure a 2–2 draw for United in North London.

Frank warns Spurs team about four United stars

Thomas Frank remains under pressure at Spurs and he will need a positive result against United if he is to weather the storm as concerns about relegation remain.

However, the ex-Brentford boss is more than aware of the threats that United possess, and mentioned four stars in his pre-match press conference.

Bryan Mbeumo is a player Frank knows all about from his time at Brentford while he is also wary of the attacking quality of Matheus Cunha, Amad and Bruno Fernandes.

“Yeah, I think he [Carrick] has had a great start. Seems like it injected a little bit of whatever, energy or whatever, into the team,” Frank told reporters.

“I think it looks like some of the players are in a good place. We know the threats from Bryan Mbeumo, Amad Diallo, Matheus Cunha and we know Bruno Fernandes is getting this team ticking.

“He’s done that the last, I don’t know, four or five years. He’s been incredible. So it’s a threat, it’s a challenge but we are looking forward to it.”

Fernandes can continue stunning run

Fernandes has assisted goals in seven of his last eight appearances for United, and the only game where he didn’t register one was against Aston Villa, where he was forced off at half-time with an injury.

It is a staggering run for the Portuguese midfielder, who will be eyeing another assist in this clash against Spurs to make it 13 for the season.

The record of assists in a Premier League season is shared between Thierry Henry and Kevin De Bruyne at 20 and Fernandes might be eyeing that record now.

If he continues his current form, the United no.8 could certainly get close to breaking that feat this term and Spurs is the next test for him.
