“They can help us win…” – Ruben Amorim delivers double Man Utd line-up hint for Nottingham Forest clash
Ruben Amorim has delivered team news hints on two Manchester United stars who can help win the game against Nottingham Forest on Saturday evening.
Ruben Amorim suffered his first defeat as Manchester United manager on Wednesday evening, as the Reds fell to Arsenal, conceding two set-piece goals at the Emirates Stadium.
The result followed wins against Everton and Bodo/Glimt, along with a draw against newly promoted Ipswich Town.
While the start has been imperfect, Amorim is gaining valuable insights into his squad and has shown promising progress in implementing his new system.
But he is now quickly thrown into another Premier League fixture this weekend as United host Nottingham Forest at Old Trafford.
Despite Storm Darragh leading to multiple fixture cancellations across the country, The Reds are still set to play their clash against Nuno Espírito Santo’s side.
Ahead of the game, United welcome back Lisandro Martínez and Kobbie Mainoo to the matchday squad after they served one-match suspensions last time out.
Amorim has spoken to club media about the two ‘very good players’ returning in what seems like a hint that they could both be back in the line-up.
“Of course, we are delighted to have Licha [Martínez] and Kobbie [Mainoo back in the squad],” Amorim told club media.
“They are very good players and they can help us to win the game against a very strong team.”
Many would argue that Martínez and Mainoo would both be included in Amorim’s strongest team and that is something he is getting closer to now.
After assessing the majority of the squad in the opening games, the head coach is starting to get a better idea of who fits where in his system.
The Argentine defender seems especially important with the way that Amorim wants the team to build from the back and Mainoo’s qualities in possession have been mentioned time and time again.
The full team news for the clash will be available from 16:15 GMT, with full coverage available on UtdDistrict’s X account.
