Sékou Koné is a Malian defensive midfielder who joined Manchester United from Guidars FC on August 30, 2024, for approximately £1 million plus add-ons. Born on February 3, 2006, in Bamako, Mali, he gained international attention after helping Mali secure third place at the 2023 FIFA U-17 World Cup and earning a spot in the U-17 Africa Cup of Nations Best XI. 
Koné currently plays for Manchester United’s U21 team. Known for his stamina, ball-winning abilities, and versatility, his playing style has drawn comparisons to Yaya Touré.
