Source close to Hannibal Mejbri denies “baseless” Erik ten Hag Manchester United ‘future’ report
A source close to Hannibal Mejbri has reportedly denied claims that Erik ten Hag is refusing to let him leave on loan due to injuries to Casemiro and Mason Mount.
Hannibal Mejbri initially enjoyed fruitful minutes at Manchester United this season, performing well against Brighton, Burnley, and Crystal Palace, before the return of Kobbie Mainoo hindered his chances of playtime.
Erik ten Hag has dealt with a monumental injury crisis this season, with his midfield being significantly depleted at points in the campaign, which has led to the happy accident of Kobbie Mainoo rising in prominence at Old Trafford.

However, it was Mejbri who was the initial exciting new talent in midfield for United, with the player starting in both the Premier League and Carabao Cup – although he has since been relegated to a bench role due to Mainoo’s good form.
A report from Tuesday afternoon suggested that although Mejbri was due to go on loan in January, Ten Hag had blocked this potential move due to the injuries of Casemiro and Mason Mount, with the Dutch manager not wanting to let any other players go until his injured ones return.
However, in a new report from Radio Mosaïque FM on Wednesday morning, it is explained that a source close to the Tunisian midfielder has denied this, claiming that the information is “baseless”.
The source added that Ten Hag has not set the injury returns of Casemiro and Mount as conditions for Mejbri’s departure and that he is in the process of studying multiple offers during January.
Mejbri recently rejected the chance to compete in AFCON for Tunisia as he wanted to sort out his future at the club during the next few weeks.
