Sir Jim Ratcliffe sends important message to four Manchester United players
Sir Jim Ratcliffe has sent an important message to four different Manchester United players during a detailed interview this week.
The Reds are now looking ahead to the next season, and INEOS have made several moves so far to prepare for it.
Erik ten Hag will remain at the club following an end-of-season review, and several players have been targeted to strengthen the team in the summer transfer market.
However, while Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s men are attempting to improve many aspects of the Old Trafford outfit, the new co-owner has sent an important message to the young talent at United.
It has become clear that the excitement at the club centres around the talent such as Kobbie Mainoo and that is apparent in United’s transfer strategy this summer.
Recent reports have stated that United see Amad Diallo, Rasmus Højlund, Alejandro Garnacho and Mainoo as integral players for the long-term future of the team.
Ratcliffe has recognised the importance of providing a supportive side to the culture at United to ensure that these players blossom into the players they are expected to become.
“Our focus is to try and change that environment; it’s a lot of things. It’s a sports club, it needs to be competitive, a degree of intensity, it needs to be driven, all those type of things,” he told Bloomberg.
“But with a supportive side to it because you’re dealing with players who are still relatively young – some of them still teenagers.
You need that environment, and it hasn’t had that type of environment historically.”
