Sir Alex Ferguson ‘pushing’ Manchester United to hire manager, INEOS ‘likely’ to ignore
According to reports, INEOS are likely to ignore hiring the manager Sir Alex Ferguson is ‘pushing’ to take over at Manchester United.
The future of Erik ten Hag at Manchester United is still undecided, with the club yet to make a decision on whether he will remain as manager beyond this summer. Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his INEOS team are currently conducting a “season review” of Ten Hag’s performance, and no final decision has been made.
In the course of this review, the team is also evaluating potential replacements should ten Hag leave. Names like Thomas Tuchel, Mauricio Pochettino, Roberto de Zerbi, and Gareth Southgate have frequently been mentioned as possible candidates.

This review is set to conclude this week, with the new co-owners at United coming to a final conclusion over whether Ten Hag will stay or not.
Should they choose to axe the Dutchman, it has been claimed that legendary boss Sir Alex Ferguson is pushing for one of the aforementioned names to take over at Old Trafford.
According to Graeme Bailey, Ferguson is “pressing” for Ratcliffe and his team to give former Chelsea and Tottenham boss Pochettino the chance to manage the team at Old Trafford.
It is claimed that the Argentinian manager, despite only having just left Chelsea a few weeks ago, is keen to continue managing, admitting that he is open to offers.
“In football you never know, things can happen – today, nothing but tomorrow can appear and any opportunity, we are open to listen,” he said on Sunday evening.
However, despite this reported call from Sir Alex, it is likely that INEOS will not command his wish. Reports from Saturday explained that United are “unlikely” to appoint Pochettino as the next manager at Old Trafford should they choose to part ways with Ten Hag.
This leaves England manager Southgate, De Zerbi, and Brentford’s Thomas Frank as the three candidates most often menioted in the media who could still take the job.
