Sekou Kone sends perfect message to Manchester United chiefs as 2025/26 loan decision incoming

Manchester United’s midfield talent Sekou Kone has sent the perfect message to the club’s chiefs as he awaits their decision on a potential loan for him in 2025/26.

Sekou Kone signed for Manchester United last summer from Mali-based side Guidars FC in a deal worth around £1 million.

The young midfielder had impressed scouts during the Under-17s World Cup and was brought in to join the club’s Under-21s side last term.

After taking time to settle into his new environment, Kone went onto have an impressive campaign and he also shined when Ruben Amorim selected him for the post-season tour of Asia.

Despite minimal game-time, the 19-year-old midfielder showcased the kind of energy and quality needed in the engine room at Old Trafford.

United considering options for Kone next season

With Kone now approaching his second season at United, there have been talks about his next move; should he get more experience with the first-team or head out on loan next term?

There have been rumours about a potential loan to INEOS-owned Lausanne-Sport, where new signing Enzo Kana-Biyik has moved to, while many fans want to see him stay at Old Trafford.

According to a new report from The Athletic, Kone’s level is currently being assessed before a decision is made on his future next season.

It was explained that a loan or another season at Under-21s level, while training with the first-team, are both options still being considered.

Kone sends perfect message to United chiefs

Kone will get the chance to prove himself to Amorim and his coaches over pre-season but even if the eventual decision is to send him out on loan, the midfielder has shown that he is willing to bide his time.

While some youngsters will get demoralised if they do not get first-team opportunities at a certain point, Kone has regularly expressed his patience, something that the United leadership will admire.

The youngster reiterated this stance in his latest Instagram post. Alongside pictures of him in pre-season training, Kone wrote: “The best day will come soon, inchAllah as long as we are patient. God it’s one.”

So far, Kone is yet to receive his official United debut but has appeared on the bench for Amorim’s side three times last season.

He seems to have all of the tools to eventually break through, and that includes his patience before he gets that opportunity.
