Saudi sides move to secure second Manchester United star as Bruno Fernandes transfer complication emerges

Sides from Saudi Arabia are targeting a second Manchester United star this summer after a compilation arises surrounding Bruno Fernandes’ talks with Al-Hilal.

Bruno Fernandes’ future at Manchester United is under serious threat after receiving a massive offer from Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal.

Multiple reports claim the Middle Eastern giants have tabled a contract worth around £700,000 per week for the Portuguese midfielder and are prepared to pay whatever is necessary to prise him away from Rúben Amorim.

Should Fernandes give the green light, Al-Hilal are expected to open talks with a bid in the region of £85 million. However, United remain firm in their stance that he is not for sale.

It’s been widely reported that Al-Hilal have set a deadline of next Friday for Fernandes to make a decision—after which the offer will be withdrawn if he declines.

Complications arise in Fernandes’ Saudi deal

Although Fernandes is yet to say no to Al-Hilal, fresh reports from Saudi Arabia have detailed that there are now complications with the deal as the two parties are coming to a stalemate on personal terms.

According to Saudi sports outlet Ariyadhiah, the United captain is demanding a three-year contract valued at £25 million per season, along with an additional £5–7 million annually in performance-related bonuses and commercial add-ons.

However, Al-Hilal’s current proposal falls short of Fernandes’ expectations. The Saudi Pro League giants have put forward a four-year contract offer worth £21 million per year, but it does not yet meet the financial package the Portuguese midfielder is looking for.

It has been further clarified by X account xO1729, a Saudi-based aggregator of sports news from the Middle East, that several reports from Saudi Arabia suggest that reaching an agreement with Fernandes is becoming “very difficult” to execute this summer.

Saudi sides turning to second United player

Amid Al-Hilal’s failure to land Fernandes so far this summer, their current rivals, Al-Nassr, the club of Cristiano Ronaldo, are attempting to get one over Al-Hilal by striking a deal for a separate United star.

According to transfer journalist Ben Jacobs, Al-Nassr see Alejandro Garnacho as an option to sign this summer amid the potential that Luis Diaz could stay at Liverpool, while NEOM are also eyeing a move for the 20-year-old winger.

“Keep an eye on Al-Nassr in particular,” Jacobs said on The United Stand YouTube channel. “As I exclusively revealed a few weeks ago, Al-Nassr’s first choice is Luis Diaz, but it’s not a guarantee that he will exit, because Liverpool are kind of 50-50, and it will depend on the offer and the player.

“If Diaz doesn’t go, Garnacho is also on Al-Nassr’s list, and another club that really like him are NEOM SC, but I’m not so sure that Garnacho would accept NEOM’s proposal, because the finances will be less.”
