Ruud van Nistelrooy has provided positive updates on six Manchester United players ahead of the Premier League clash against Leicester City.

Ruud van Nistelrooy will take charge of his final game as interim manager of Manchester United this weekend in the Premier League against Leicester City.

The Dutchman has won two and drawn one in his three outings as manager so far, with wins against The Foxes in the Carabao Cup and PAOK in the Europa League.

He will be desperate to end his time in the hot-seat on a high though, with three points crucial to United’s hopes to climb up the league table.

The Reds currently sit 13th in the Premier League standings after a poor start to the season which leaves Ruben Amorim a difficult task to secure European football next term.

Van Nistelrooy provides positive updates

Speaking ahead of his final game in charge, Van Nistelrooy explained how it was positive to see Christian Eriksen and Mason Mount back on the pitch this week, as well as Luke Shaw and Leny Yoro returning to training.

“Yesterday we had a lot of benefit from Christian [Eriksen] playing 30 minutes with [Manuel] Ugarte [coming off],” he began.

“Mason [Mount] making his first minutes again, so glad they are back and for a little bit of a longer future that Luke [Shaw] and Leny [Yoro] are on the pitch.”

Meanwhile, the boss provided a positive update on Amad Diallo after he came off with an ankle problem following his brace against PAOK on Thursday.

“Amad has been examined, and we continue to work so that he is ready for Sunday,” he added.

“Kobbie [Mainoo] is also progressing with his injury. He isn’t yet with the team, though. He needs more time.”

United’s clash against Leicester City kicks off at 14:00 GMT on Sunday, 10 November and the latest team news can be read here.
