Ruben Amorim urged to sign “unbelievable” 18-goal star, he’d be “massive step up” from underwhelming Man Utd duo

Ruben Amorim has been urged to sign one “unbelievable” player this summer who would be a big upgrade on his existing options at Old Trafford.

Manchester United are aiming to strengthen Ruben Amorim’s squad this summer, with a particular focus on improving their attacking options.

The Reds have struggled significantly in front of goal this season and are already identifying potential signings to address the issue.

Matheus Cunha has emerged as a leading target for the left-sided No.10 role, while Liam Delap is reportedly the top choice to lead the line.

In addition, some reports suggest United are also targeting a reinforcement for the right-sided No.10 position to further enhance their attacking unit, with several targets being linked with this role.

Amorim urged to sign “unbelievable” Mbeumo this summer

United are reportedly interested in some talented young players for that right-sided no.10 role, with Rayan Cherki and Franco Mastantuono among those targets.

But they are also interested in another Premier League-proven star in Bryan Mbeumo, who has been a standout player at Brentford for several years and reportedly available for around £60 million this summer.

Currently with 18 goals in the Premier League this term, along with eight assists, Mbeumo would represent a ready-made option for United’s frontline and is a signing that Paul Parker believes his former club should make.

The ex-United defender thinks that the 25-year-old would be a “brilliant signing” for United and offer a huge upgrade on their existing options in the frontline such as Alejandro Garnacho and Rasmus Højlund.

“Mbeumo has been absolutely unbelievable,” Parker said of the Brentford star during an interview with aceodds.com earlier this week.

“He has had a completely absurd season, and he has only improved since Ivan Toney left the club. What he has done for Brentford is incredible.”

“He owes a lot to Thomas Frank. This is yet another example of why Thomas Frank is one of the best managers in the world, because he gets the best out of his players. He is outstanding.”

“He would be a brilliant signing for Manchester United. A magical signing, because he would be a massive step up from the other players.”

“He would be a dream signing. But does he actually want to leave Brentford? Honestly, I am not sure. It is a fantastic club, and if you take away things like money and status, Brentford might just be the best club to play for in the world.”

United need Premier League-proven players

United are clearly searching for young talent in the transfer window but must also balance that with signings who are almost guaranteed to hit the ground running.

Mbeumo would be that kind of signing and is still only 25 years old, with a lot of room to grow into being a better player.

The last three signings United made within the Premier League were Mason Mount, Harry Maguire and Aaron Wan-Bissaka – stretching back across five seasons – and they could make at least three more this summer.

Balancing these youth stars with players who know all about England’s top flight could be important for the Reds as they look to turn things around next season.
