Rúben Amorim’s ‘plan’ once he joins Manchester United surrounding Ruud van Nistelrooy has been revealed amid the club’s 3-0 win over Leicester City.

With Rúben Amorim set to take over as Manchester United‘s new head coach on 11 November, Ruud van Nistelrooy has stepped in as interim manager to guide the team until then.

The Dutchman has overseen four matches: a commanding 5-2 victory against Leicester City in the Carabao Cup, followed by a hard-fought 1-1 draw with Chelsea in the Premier League.

This was coupled with a fantastic 2-0 Europa League win over PAOK and a final 3-0 victory over Leicester, this time in the Premier League.

Despite Van Nistelrooy’s commitments, uncertainty lingers over his future at the club beyond his interim stint.

He has been candid about his willingness to stay on and assist the club in any capacity, but so far, no official decision has been made.

Rúben Amorim’s ‘plan’

Despite rumours of a lack of communication between Van Nistelrooy and Amorim, the Dutchman has insisted they haven’t spoken. However, it has been reported that this will commence in the coming days.

This is according to The Mirror (via the Manchester Evening News). It’s stated that Amorim’s plan once he takes charge at United will be to meet with Van Nistelrooy ‘urgently’ to finalise the Dutchman’s future at United.

“Let’s wait and see how that goes,” Van Nistelrooy said of meeting face-to-face with the 39-year-old for the first time. “I am calm to be fair, I am trusting the process.”

He continued earlier this week, explaining: “I believe the outcome will be good because I believe that as long as there is no news, I am here at Manchester United, so that is my focus. I am calm in that sense, and whenever the communication will take place, I will see.

“But obviously, we know what the timeframes are, so I am aware of that, and for me, it is tomorrow’s training session, and Sunday two o’clock (the Premier League fixture against Leicester City) is the only thing that is on my mind, to be fair.”
