Ruben Amorim receives surprise boost as “really important” Manchester United star set for early return from international break

One Manchester United star is set to make an early return from his international duties in a surprise boost for Ruben Amorim and his staff.

Manchester United’s season has begun in mixed fashion, with just one win in their first four games of the new campaign.

In the Premier League, there have been some positives to take – particularly in the games against Arsenal and Burnley – but the Carabao Cup defeat to Grimsby Town was shocking.

Ruben Amorim will be hoping for major improvements once the team returns to action after the international break, although he will also be desperate to have no injury concerns over the next week.

International breaks always concern supporters. They always seem to lead to at least one player suffering an injury, and that is not what United need right now.

Amorim receives surprise international break boost

Leny Yoro is still awaiting his senior debut for France but was called up to the Under-21 squad for the current international break.

The team had been due to face Luxembourg in a UEFA Euro U21 qualifier on Friday, September 5, which would have seen Yoro make his fifth appearance for the U21s.

However, the fixture was officially postponed on the morning of the game after the Luxembourg team bus was involved in a traffic accident on Thursday while en route to the Stade du Moustoir in Lorient, western France.

The French Football Federation confirmed that the decision to delay the match was taken jointly by UEFA and the two national associations.

Yoro has been crucial for United

Fortunately, it appears that there are no serious injuries from the incident. For Yoro, he will have to wait longer to impress for France’s youth side.

But at Old Trafford, it is a boost that Yoro will be returning to Manchester early, with no other fixtures scheduled for France’s U21s during this international break.

The young defender has been one of the most important players for Amorim’s side and the United boss will be pleased that there are no chances of him getting injured over this break.

Instead, he will be getting needed rest ahead of a busy period with United, which begins with the Manchester derby next weekend.
