Ruben Amorim receives double injury update after Man United discussions held
Ruben Amorim has received a double injury update after he held discussions at Carrington during his first days as Manchester United head coach.
Ruben Amorim got started as Manchester United head coach on Monday after flying to England from Portugal with his staff.
Following the Under-21s game against Huddersfield Town on Tuesday evening, Travis Binnion confirmed that Dan Gore would be back in action within ‘days’ or ‘weeks’.
Afterwards, the U21s manager stated that Toby Collyer had returned to training on the grass at Carrington, suggesting that a return to the pitch is very soon.
Both players seem like they will be available for selection for Amorim’s first game after the international break.
While they are not immediate options to start games, United have 10 games in just over a month when they return to action and Amorim will appreciate having the option of two hungry Academy talents to call upon.
Gore is regarded as one of the most talented players in the set-up at Carrington but has suffered several injury setbacks in the last 12 months.
Collyer, meanwhile, emerged as a first-team option under Erik ten Hag and has the right physical profile that Amorim has demanded at Old Trafford.
Meanwhile, according to the Telegraph, Amorim held a series of meetings with United’s technical staff at the club on Tuesday.
Reports have claimed that the 39-year-old has told Dan Ashworth and the United chiefs that he wants to sign players with the right ‘intensity’ for his playstyle.
He was also pictured meeting the likes of Kobbie Mainoo, Mason Mount and Luke Shaw during their recovery sessions at Carrington.
Amorim will be keen to get to work with the squad properly ahead of the visit to Ipswich Town next weekend.
