Rúben Amorim provides Bruno Fernandes Manchester United future update after Al-Hilal decision hint

Rúben Amorim has offered an update on Bruno Fernandes’ future at Manchester United after the player hinted at a decision surrounding Al-Hilal’s transfer proposal.

Manchester United are preparing for a full-scale overhaul under Rúben Amorim following a dismal 15th-place finish in the Premier League last season.

With financial challenges mounting and several members of Amorim’s squad considered surplus to requirements, the club have reportedly made every player available for transfer at the right price.

While core figures like Bruno Fernandes, Amad, and Leny Yoro are expected to stay, high-profile names such as Rasmus Højlund and Alejandro Garnacho could be sold if strong offers come in.

United are focusing their early summer efforts on signing Matheus Cunha and Liam Delap but remain active in the market as they look to strengthen in attack, midfield, and defence ahead of the new campaign.

Amorim maintains Fernandes’ importance after fantastic Villa performance

With United set to face ASEAN All-Stars in Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday afternoon as part of a two-game post-season tour, Amorim was quick to praise his players for their display during the final game of the season, a fantastic 2-0 win over Aston Villa.

Further, the head coach reiterated that, despite transfer interest in Fernandes, he remains a key player that the head coach wants to build his squad around in the future, laying down a firm marker that he is not up for sale this summer.

“The last game, the team was without pressure, they performed quite well, everybody wants the ball, the team has different moments, and in different moments, Bruno [Fernandes] takes responsibility,” Amorim told the press in Malaysia.

“He’s really important for us and really important for what we want to build with this team.”

Fernandes makes Al-Hilal decision hint

A recent English report had claimed that Al-Hilal are making a major push to sign Fernandes from United this summer. The Saudi club have offered the 30-year-old a three-year deal worth up to £65 million per season, along with a £100 million fee to United.

They’ve reportedly given Fernandes a 72-hour deadline to decide, hoping he’ll join in time for June’s Club World Cup. While United don’t want to lose him, they may not block the move if he asks to leave.

However, speaking with club media following United’s final game of the season, the United captain explained he is only thinking about how next season will start for the club, hinting he is not mulling over a potential move to Al-Hilal this summer.

“That’s amazing for the way we finished the season, but more important is the way we’re going to start the next one,” the talisman explained after discussing United’s second-half goals.

After receiving praise for his behaviour as United captain, Fernandes explained that it remains his “dream” to play at Old Trafford.

“I want to help as much as I can,” Fernandes continued. “I’m living my dream, so I’m just a very lucky guy that is living his dream in one of the best clubs in the world, in the best league in the world. So, what more can I ask?

“I just have to give it all for myself, for my teammates, for my fans, for everyone that’s been through every moment with me, and that’s all.”
