Rúben Amorim “willing” to hand Paul Pogba third Manchester United chance, claims insider
Paul Pogba has been tipped for another Manchester United reunion, with a former teammate claiming Rúben Amorim would be willing to give him a chance.
Paul Pogba departed Manchester United in 2022 when his six-year contract came to an end. His return to Old Trafford in 2016 had set a world record, with United paying £89 million to Juventus, making him the most expensive player in football at the time.
The French international made an immediate impact, playing a key role in helping United secure two trophies during his debut season under José Mourinho. However, his relationship with Mourinho soured in subsequent seasons, affecting his form and stability at the club.

Under Ole Gunnar Solskjær, Pogba enjoyed a resurgence, showing glimpses of his undeniable talent. However, injuries plagued him in the latter stages of his United career, limiting his influence on the pitch.
Pogba’s time at Manchester United was often polarising. While he delivered moments of brilliance, his performances were inconsistent, and he faced heightened scrutiny, largely due to the enormous transfer fee. Critics questioned his focus on football, but his flamboyant playing style and creativity made him a unique presence in the squad.
After returning to Juventus, Pogba’s career hit another stumbling block. He received a four-year doping ban for consuming supplements containing banned substances. However, this ban was reduced to 18 months last month. Following his contract termination with Juventus, Pogba is now seeking a new club to revive his career.
A return to United?
Although Fabrizio Romano shut down rumours that Paul Pogba would be training at Carrington while he found a new club, one of Pogba’s ex-teammates has touted him for a return under Amorim.
Bacary Sagna, the former France international who has remained close with Pogba since the 31-year-old left Old Trafford, has explained that new United coach Rúben Amorim would understand the situation and be willing to let Pogba rejoin the club.
Beyond this, Sagna also reveals that the midfielder still has an affection for United, hinting that the player may be open to a return.
“It’s a different situation today at Manchester United to when Paul was previously there,” Sagna told Mega Dice. “United have a young coach, a coach that has been a player, a coach that understands the situation.
“He will probably be willing to have a player like Paul at his training sessions. Amorim was a player himself, so I’m sure the coach will be open to seeing him getting back home because he loves United.
“I have talked many times with Paul. He loves United. The only problem was the situation when he came back.
“That was a spell where things didn’t go as well as they should have done, but Paul wasn’t the only player that struggled at United during the time he was there.”
