“Incredible…” Sporting rival raves about Rúben Amorim, names two biggest Manchester United benefits
Former Benfica and current FC Braga star Jose Fonte has been raving about new Manchester United boss Rúben Amorim, listing two of his most prominent qualities.
Manchester United have officially appointed Ruben Amorim as Head Coach following Erik ten Hag’s departure from Old Trafford.
Ten Hag, who was granted a contract extension over the summer, faced difficulties this season, leaving United in 14th place in the Premier League and 21st in the Europa League.

United confirmed his departure on Monday morning and moved quickly to secure Amorim as his replacement.
Amorim will begin his tenure on 11 November, the start of the international break. His debut match is set for 24 November, when he will play against Ipswich Town away from home.
Amorim’s incredible football
Former Portugal international centre-back Jose Fonte has been raving about Amorim, and after playing against his sides and knowing him personally, he feels the new head coach could be a hit at Old Trafford.
“I believe it was only a question of time before he was going to move to a bigger club,” Fonte told Football Daily.
“What I like about him is that he has his philosophy, he has his own ideas. I had a conversation with one of his former players, Luis Neto, the other day, and he said that he’s one of them managers who has attention to detail, and sometimes it can be even a little bit too much, but that’s what makes the difference in my opinion.
“I think he has the ability to be a great success at Manchester United. I know him personally, I have played against Sporting Lisbon a couple of times now, and I know how hard it is to play against his team.
“The way Sporting play is incredible. They have threats in behind, threats in between the lines, they build-up, press and know what to do in every situation of the game.”
Amorim’s two best traits
Cnotinaing, Fonte explained that his brother, Rui Fonte, has played under AMroim at sporting and had rave reviews about the manager, explaining that two of his best traits are being obsessed with football and obsessed with coaching.
“My brother was managed by him. I spoke many times with my brother about Ruben even before he was linked with Man United, and what he said to me was that he was obsessed with football, with training and with coaching, and this is something that’s very important if you want to be one of the best,” Fonte added.
“In every job he’s had, he’s had so much success, and that tells you something. He has something special, and I believe that he will succeed because he’s a very hard worker.”
