Rúben Amorim’s expected Manchester United squad vs Ipswich Town as three stars return
Rúben Amorim’s first Manchester United squad is set to see three stars return from injury as they face Ipswich Town in the Premier League.
Rúben Amorim is ready to lead Manchester United for the first time as head coach, with his team heading to Ipswich Town for an away Premier League fixture.
The match, scheduled for Sunday afternoon, offers United’s players plenty of recovery time after a busy international break that saw 13 squad members in action while others worked on regaining fitness after injuries.

Currently 13th in the Premier League table, United are looking to turn their fortunes around. Ruud van Nistelrooy helped steady the ship after a challenging spell under Erik ten Hag, and there’s renewed hope among players and fans alike.
Despite their position, United are only four points behind Nottingham Forest who hold one of the Champions League qualification spots United are targeting this season.
Three players return
While United have five stars currently injured and likely unavailable for the game, three players are expected to return to the squad for the first time this season.
Leny Yoro is now fully fit and has been participating in Amorim’s training sessions, with the 39-year-old saying to be a big fan of the 19-year-old’s abilities. Yoro has yet to debut for the club after suffering an injury in pre-season.
Left-back pair Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia are also expected to join the squad for the first time this season as they travel down to face Ipswich. Still, it’s unlikely that either player will start as their returns from injury are carefully managed.
Beyond this, Amorim is expected to have his full first-team midfield roster. United have struggled with injury in the department this season.
With Mason Mount, Kobbie Mainoo, Bruno Fernandes, Manuel Ugarte, Casemiro, and Christian Eriksen all fit, the head coach has his pick of the bunch.
The same goes for his front line. Many of them have only just returned from international duty and have had limited training time under the new boss. Still, Rasmus Højlund, Alejandro Garnacho, and Joshua Zirkee are expected to be part of the travelling party.
Marcus Rashford may start up front for the Reds after spending several days training in the position under Amorim this week.
