Rúben Amorim has ‘already chosen’ one starting XI player vs Ipswich after “impressing” in training
According to a new report, Rúben Amorim has already chosen one starting XI player after he impressed in Manchester United training.
Rúben Amorim has officially started his role as Manchester United’s new head coach, arriving at Carrington last week to begin work after the club parted ways with Erik ten Hag late last month.
The 39-year-old made an immediate impact, dismissing Ruud van Nistelrooy and three other members of the coaching staff shortly after his arrival in Manchester.
Amorim will has been using this international break to evaluate his squad and decide on his starting line-up. His first match in charge will be a Premier League trip to Ipswich Town.
He has already signalled his intention to introduce his 3-4-2-1 formation from the outset, fueling speculation about how the squad will adapt to his tactical approach.
One XI player ‘chosen’
According to GiveMeSport, Amorim has already settled on one player who is likely to start during his first game as the club travel south to Ipswich on Sunday.
It’s stated that the head coach is set to hand Amad Diallo a role from the start, likely in the right-sided No. 10 position, following his performances in training.
GMS explain that Amorim has “taken a liking” to Amad across the opening sessions and that there is a “strong chance” the Ivorian international will feature prominently across his teams for the foreseeable future.
During his opening training session on Monday, Amorim can be clearly heard singling Amad out for praise for his attacking and defensive contributions, impressing the coach.
