Ruben Amorim has made his feelings clear on one Manchester United outcast following Fabrizio Romano’s recent claim.

Manchester United secured a stunning 2-1 victory on Sunday in Ruben Amorim’s first derby against Manchester City after Amad Diallo stole the show in the final minutes of the game.

It was a brilliant result for the Reds in isolation but they must build on it in the coming weeks if they are to climb the Premier League table.

Amorim has now taken charge of seven games for United since his mid-season move from Sporting Lisbon. He has four wins, two losses and one draw in that period.

The results have been decent overall but the head coach will be more focused on finding out his best team and who has a future under him at Old Trafford.

Amorim makes feelings clear on Eriksen

It already appears that Amorim has decided that Christian Eriksen does not have a future under his leadership at United.

Eriksen, who joined the club in the summer of 2022, started the first game of Amorim’s reign against Ipswich Town in a 1-1 draw. He played 68 minutes before being replaced.

Since then, the Danish international has not played a single minute of football for the club, suggesting that Amorim’s stance on the player is already clear. Now, an exit looks inevitable as his contract expiry date approaches.

The 32-year-old started the season very well under Erik ten Hag but does not seem to suit the way Amorim wants his midfielders to play.

Casemiro, Kobbie Mainoo and Manuel Ugarte are all preferred options and Bruno Fernandes is now also regularly being used in the midfield pivot.

Fabrizio Romano’s recent Eriksen claim

Any opportunities for Eriksen will be few and far between and it appears that a January exit may even be on the cards.

Yet, if that does not occur, Fabrizio Romano recently reported that the midfielder is expected to leave at the end of the season when his contract expires.

“What I’m also hearing is that there are, as of today, zero contacts between Christian Eriksen, his camp, and Manchester United to sign a new contract in 2025,” the journalist recently claimed.

“So the expectation is for Christian Eriksen to leave Manchester United on a free transfer in 2025, and could be in the summer transfer window as a free agent. Let’s see what happens in January.”

It is no surprise that United are not looking to extend Eriksen’s deal and he looks to be the first United player who will be out of the door under Amorim.
