Ruben Amorim is ‘frustrated’ with key summer transfer window failure at Man Utd after latest rejected offer

Going into his first full season as Manchester United boss, Ruben Amorim has been very clear of his priorities this summer transfer window, but has been left frustrated at the club’s business so far.

Manchester United started the summer transfer window quickly, signing Matheus Cunha for £62.5 million, before pursuing Bryan Mbeumo, and while talks have stalled a bit lately, it seems inevitable that he will be a United player.

The two attacking midfield signings will replace Antony, Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho, who all look set to leave the club after their loan spells away from Old Trafford.

With United operating on a tight budget this summer, they will have to look for any deals they can get, and they have just inquired about a defensive midfielder, whose price has just been slashed.

Despite clearly identifying players that are no longer required at the club, Amorim will be concerned that the club have not yet sold any players as pre-season gets underway.

Lack of sales a real issue for Amorim

Despite pushing for the signing of an out-and-out striker to complete the transformation of the front line in the likes of Viktor Gyokeres and Victor Osimhen, nothing has come to fruition as of yet.

According to Flashscore, there is internal frustration that no attackers have been moved on yet, despite Amorim making it abundantly clear the list of players he deems surplus to requirements.

Amorim had hoped for at least two from Rashford, Rasmus Hojlund, Sancho, Antony and Alejandro Garnacho to be moved on, but there is now a push to make at least one exit happen by the time their US tour begins at the end of July.

Despite sharing a good working relationship, as exclusively revealed by UtdDistrict, Amorim had also become frustrated with Andre Onana’s inconsistency in between the sticks.

Garnacho turns down a move away

Garnacho’s desire to leave the club has already been well established for some time, with the very public falling out between the 21-year-old and Amorim.

Amorim’s made it very clear that the trust between him and the player is broken, and there is no chance of the winger returning to the squad this summer.

But as reported by The Telegraph, Garnacho has rejected the opportunity to pursue a move to Al Nassr this summer, with it being reported that he wants to stay in the Premier League, just not at United.

Garnacho’s public falling out with the club may have left few suitors in the league that would be willing to take on the want-away star, leaving his situation extremely complicated, in a saga that could go on until the very end of the transfer window.
