Ruben Amorim has heaped praise onto Ayden Heaven and some of his key attributes after Manchester United’s latest victory.

Manchester United advanced to the Europa League quarter-finals with a commanding 5-2 aggregate victory over Real Sociedad on Thursday.

The Reds secured a 4-1 win at Old Trafford in the second leg, where teenage defender Ayden Heaven made his first start for the club.

United’s January signing slotted into the backline alongside Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui, delivering an extremely assured performance.

Making your full professional debut in the team’s most important game of the season should not look that effortless.

From winning fouls under pressure to beating the press and making crucial tackles, Heaven ticked every box on Thursday night.

After the game, Amorim was asked about the teenager’s performance against the La Liga outfit and the Portuguese boss was impressed.

The United boss praised several attributes of the teenager which makes him “complete” but also tried to ease expectations about the youngster afterwards.

“If he continues like that, he is going to play,” Amorim told journalists. “Of course he’s young, he didn’t play much this season and now a full game.

“I really like his confidence, I like his pace, I think he’s good in defending the box. He’s quite complete but he [still] has a lot of work to do.

“In the Premier League, he will face a different type of player and he’s going to be tested in a different way. We’re trying to manage all of this because he’s still really young.”

Hevean should start vs Leicester

United have one final game before the international break, facing Leicester City in the Premier League, and Heaven is now seems like a guaranteed starter for that clash.

Amorim indicated that Leny Yoro would likely remain unavailable until the team returns to action at the start of next month.

While Harry Maguire could be fit for the match, rushing him back into the lineup seems unnecessary, as an extended two-week rest would ensure he is fully recovered for the crucial final stretch of the season.

After his outstanding Europa League performance, Heaven has earned his place in the starting XI, and United fans are eager to see if he can build on that momentum.
