Ruben Amorim has given Jason Wilcox one “clear” Man Utd transfer demand, Christopher Vivell is “working hard”

Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim has reportedly given Jason Wilcox one clear demand ahead of the summer transfer window.

Ruben Amorim has faced challenges in trying to reverse Manchester United’s fortunes this season, with the squad struggling to adapt to his tactical system.

Limited squad depth and a lack of quality options have forced the Portuguese manager to rely heavily on inexperienced Academy players to fill the bench.

With the summer transfer window on the horizon, United’s leadership recognizes the importance of strengthening the squad to provide Amorim with the reinforcements he needs.

Reports indicate that the club has already identified several key areas for improvement once the campaign ends and the window opens.

Amorim gives Wilcox one United transfer demand

One of the key positions the Reds are looking to bolster is up front, and that is something Amorim has made extremely clear to technical director Jason Wilcox.

It is claimed by Graeme Bailey that Wilcox and head of recruitment Christopher Vivell are “working hard” on finding the right striker for Amorim.

After questionable striker signings in recent windows, the new United bosses know that they need to get this next decision correct.

“The basics are that United want one new striker this summer – my understanding is that Ruben Amorim has made that clear to Jason Wilcox and the footballing department, and they agree,” Bailey wrote on UnitedInFocus.

“Even if [Joshua] Zirkzee and [Rasmus] Højlund stay, which we will no doubt get onto, they need someone else.

“They are doing their work on their best options – the scouting department, analysts along with Wilcox and Christopher Vivell are working hard, they know after Hojlund and to a lesser extent Zirkzee, they can’t get this next one wrong.”

United looking at six striker options

There have been many names linked with a summer move to Old Trafford and the transfer market isn’t even close to being open yet.

According to Bailey, the club are already looking at a host of options who fit the profile Amorim wants to lead his line.

That includes the likes of Viktor Gyokeres, Victor Osimhen and Liam Delap.

“Gyokeres, Osimhen, Vlahovic, Delap, Sesko, Burkardt – all of the best striking talent, suitable for that lone role, are being looked at and worked on. I can confirm that. United are working hard on that,” he added.
