Manchester United are planning to make sales and loan deals in the January transfer window and Ruben Amorim has already approved two exits.

Ruben Amorim has had a difficult time at Manchester United since taking over as head coach in November, with just four wins in 11 games.

The 39-year-old has attempted to completely change the system at Old Trafford and some issues have been highlighted as a result of that.

He continues to mention that he has only had a handful of full training sessions with his squad since arriving in England, which is contributing to the problems.

Transfers are a necessity for Amorim, who has made it clear that the club needs to sell players in order to sign anyone this month.

The likes of Marcus Rashford and Casemiro could be options to leave mid-season and make space for new additions, but the head coach is also looking at loans for some of the younger players at United.

Amorim approves double United loan exit

According to a report from ManchesterWorld, the club are ‘prioritising’ loan departures for Harry Amass and Dan Gore this month after approval from Amorim.

It was claimed that those at Old Trafford believe that the Academy pair will ‘benefit greatly’ from getting first-team football during the second half of the season.

Gore has previously had one loan spell at Port Vale but a serious injury prevented him from making any serious progress. He has only started playing consistent football again in recent months for the Under-21s.

Meanwhile, Amass was touted to make his first-team debut under Erik ten Hag this season but the picture quickly changed when he was sacked and Amorim took over.

The Portuguese head coach’s system leaves major importance in the hands of the wingbacks, and he already wants an upgrade on what he has in the first-team at the moment.

That has impacted Amass’ chances, and it seems best for the player to move past U21s football and start competing in the EFL on loan.

Amorim yet to utilise United youth

Amorim was well-known for bringing through youngsters during his time at Sporting and that was something many fans were looking forward to at United.

However, perhaps for several different reasons, he has yet to show any real trust in the Academy talent at Carrington. Godwill Kukonki is the only player to be involved on the bench for two games.

It could be that he wants to initially focus on the first-team squad and learn as much about those players as possible, or even that he doesn’t want to throw young players into what is clearly an unstable environment this season.

But that stance could change as the season goes on, and it might need to when you look at United’s current form.

There may be some players who can contribute. Someone like Chido Obi Martin will be eyeing the struggling forwards in the first-team and thinking he can push through for a debut before the end of the season.

Ultimately, it is far too early to tell how much Amorim will utilise the youth at United, but for now, these loan moves seem like the right moves.
