Roy Keane tells Kobbie Mainoo what he must do to be ‘even better’ at Man United
Former Manchester United captain Roy Keane has praised Kobbie Mainoo for his efforts against Liverpool over the weekend.
Scoring an outstanding goal to put United ahead in the 67th minute, Mainoo would once again shine in the Red Devils’ midfield.
Despite admittedly not having his best game in United’s 2-2 draw with the club’s fierce rivals, when he was at his best, the ability Mainoo showed throughout the game once again staggered those who were watching.

Starting against Liverpool for the third time this season, Mainoo’s ability to deal with the biggest games at just eighteen years old has earned him recognition from the former United captain Keane.
Speaking on Mainoo’s performance against Liverpool, Keane praised the talented teenager for continuing to develop.
“It’s a tough game for him, [and] obviously he’s done well,” Keane told Sky Sports. “It’s a very good Liverpool team. He’s still learning, still not there with the set pieces but he’s doing better.
“[He’s] scored one wonderful goal and it’s just now about how he copes with the expectations he’s had over the last few months with playing for England.”
“[Mainoo] seems like a really nice kid, got lots to learn and he’ll only get better from these experiences.
“Scored against Liverpool. I know he’s talking about not winning the game, but you can see he’s delighted to have scored, even if it wasn’t the winner.”
Keane’s latter comments are referring to Mainoo’s post-match interview wherein the young Englishman admitted that he was “disappointed” after United failed to see out the result.
Following up on this, Mainoo added that though it was an “unbelievable feeling” to score at Old Trafford for the first time, the Red Devils not leaving with all three points was the “main thing.”
