Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS are looking to reshuffle Manchester United’s squad in the summer transfer window, with many players facing a potential exit.

Ratcliffe, 71, has finally entered the building at Old Trafford in an official capacity after his stake in the club was ratified earlier this week.

The British billionaire has appeared in multiple interviews since then, with some fighting talk about returning United to the top of European football, but warned supporters that they are far behind right now.

With all the movement behind the scenes, with Omar Berrada coming in and pursuing Dan Ashworth, INEOS are also planning ahead to the summer, and reports have stated that many players could be leaving the club.

According to ESPN, there are ‘question marks’ over the future of 11 first-team players at Old Trafford.

On the defensive side, Raphaël Varane, Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelöf, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Brandon Williams are included in that list. Varane’s contract runs out at the end of the season, whilst Maguire attracted interest from West Ham last summer.

Meanwhile, Scott McTominay, Casemiro, Christian Eriksen and Donny van de Beek are the players mentioned in midfield. Van de Beek is struggling on loan right now, but McTominay has been shooting his value up with his goalscoring form this term.

Within the front line, Facundo Pellistri and Jadon Sancho were the final names mentioned. Of course, it has already been reported that Anthony Martial is expected to leave the club at the expiry of his contract in the summer.

The report added that conversations with Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS director Sir Dave Brailsford have focused on a need to offload players to boost their budget.

Erik ten Hag complained about the FFP restrictions after he was unable to sign a striker in the January window.
