Marcus Rashford has reportedly decided on the club he wants to sign for “no matter what” when he leaves Manchester United this summer.
Irrespective of having less quality on the frontline, Rúben Amorim thought it would be wise to let go of a few of his out-of-favour forwards on loan during the winter window.
Manchester United had struggled to see any end product up front ever since these departures. Their two strikers, Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Højlund, have not been consistent through the 2024/25 campaign.
To put it in perspective, even after being out with injury, Amad Diallo has more goals than Rasmus Hoijlund and one goal fewer than Zirkzee. As things stand, Bruno Fernandes is the top scorer for the Red Devils.
While the Red Devils are in search of bringing in multiple reinforcements for their front line, on-loan winger Marcus Rashford has reportedly decided on his dream destination this summer.
Rashford eager on a move to Barcelona
After the Portuguese manager shared his disappointment, Rashford was sent on loan to Aston Villa in the winter window. The Englishman has been in fine form since then, making multiple contributions for his team with his consistent performance.
When Unai Emery was asked for his opinion on Rashford, he said: “It is difficult to plan it now. He [Rashford] is feeling better, and he played a fantastic match.
“We are very happy. If he is happy, we are happy. It depends on the circumstances for now and the next weeks.”
Man Utd legend Wayne Rooney has previously shared his wish to see the Englishman back in the club. However, these recent reports hint towards a desire for a La Liga move.
But now, reports coming from the Spanish outlet Sport (via Sport Witness) claims that Rashford wants to join Barcelona this summer “no matter what,” with the club looking to sign a new left-winger.
Rashford’s entourage had attempted to orchestrate a move to the Catalan club before his loan to Villa, but the transfer fell through due to discontent about the signing within the dressing room. However, it’s likely that the move will be explored again this summer.
What Sheringham thinks of Marcus’ future at United
Unlike Wayne Rooney, United legend Teddy Sheringham feels that the Englishman is better off finding another destination.

“I still don’t see an unbelievable change in his body language at Villa, but I see a slight difference in as much as… He’s trying to enjoy his football at the moment, and he’s fitting in more with the Aston Villa players than what he was with the players at Man United football club.
“I don’t think Marcus Rashford has any future at Manchester United after this season.”
As of right now, only time will tell what the future holds for the Englishman, although his days as an Old Trafford player are likely numbered.
